IKEA PROJECT BRIEF

IKEA Sheffield is inspired by the IKEA Vision and driven by the IKEA Values. We would like the student group to explore both, and consider- what can the “Wonderful Everyday” mean for the people of Sheffield? We would like you to investigate how a global home furnishing brand can connect with Sheffield, its people & culture, and develop the concept of a new product (or series of products), exploring how we can help “create a better everyday life for the many people” of Sheffield.

THE OUTCOME

IKEA is a Swedish home furnishing company whose aim is to positively impact the planet, make a difference in many people’s lives and create a better overall everyday life through passionately encouraging their functional, durable, affordable and sustainable home furnishings. Due to the Covid 19 pandemic there has been a decrease in social interaction. Creating a sustainable, reusable, space saving and adaptable product which illustrates journeys to take on the map of Sheffield, will not only encourage an uplift in social interaction and outdoor activity but will also determine bringing the outdoor memories inside your home.
